Married to a Jackass Blues - The Show

Written Directed and Performed by Serena Williamson

Married to a Jackass Blues - The Show is a one-woman musical comedy that pokes gentle fun at the trials and tribulations of life, love and being single in the 21st century. Touching on contemporary issues with funny original songs such as I Wanna Be a Botox Beauty and Datin’ on the Internet Blues, interspersed with hilarious dialogue, this show makes audiences laugh their troubles away.

They say that women over 45 have a greater chance of being hit by a train than finding a man. Maybe they even have a greater chance of flying to the moon. Younger single women struggle too. But there are also women who are happily re-married. Heaven only knows how…or why?

People often write about what‘s bugging them, so Serena started ranting and raving and writing songs. But the more she ranted, the funnier it began to sound. Serena‘s still ranting, and she‘s still single (maybe the two are connected!) but at least now she‘s laughing about it.

Epilogue:

Soon after writing, producing and performing this show, Serena met someone and is no longer single. Go figure! So the show is now in rewrites and will return shortly, maybe.

In 2010 the show was staged at the following festivals:
